About me

For over forty years Hugh Halsell has been assisting newcomers and established residents to make New Canaan their home.  Hugh moved to New Canaan in 1954 with his parents and joined Brotherhood & Higley in 1971.  "In 1977 Stuart Higley gave me a wonderful opportunity to purchase Brotherhood & Higley." "Being the oldest real estate firm in New Canaan  (founded in 1926) as well as the most successful, I was very fortunate to be able to carry on the firm's stellar reputation" he notes.  "Stuart Higley had been considered the Dean of New Canaan real estate, having been involved in the founding of the New Canaan Board of Realtors and the New Canaan MLS."
